Hildegard Cosmic Egg Poster, Scivias Vision, Medieval Cosmology Art Print

from $19.00
Fire encloses the heavens; the earth rests within the elements. In Hildegard of Bingen’s Scivias, creation takes the form of an immense egg, ordered through light, air, water, and the movement of winds. This original Etherfolk interpretation draws upon Book I, Vision III, rendering its layered universe in the visual language of Romanesque manuscript illumination. Vermilion, deep blue, sandy ochre, and parchment tones give each region a distinct place within the enclosing form. A botanical border and historical lettering complete the manuscript-inspired composition. Printed on heavyweight matte paper, the artwork brings visionary cosmology into a library, theological study, or contemplative interior. Product Details • Unframed poster on heavyweight 200 gsm (80 lb) white paper • Smooth, uncoated matte surface with a non-reflective finish • Paper thickness: 0.26 mm (10.3 mils) • FSC-certified paper or equivalent • Frame not included The earth rests within an order greater than itself.
